Landlord-Tenant Relations Council

The duties of the Landlord-Tenant Relations Council (LTRC) include conduct research into community housing problems; formulate programs to improve landlord-tenant relations; accumulating statistical information on available housing accommodations; advising the Board of Trustees on landlord-tenant problems; and resolving disputes between landlords and tenants through mediation.

As part of its responsibility to resolve disputes between landlords and tenants, the LTRC may conduct hearings attended by the landlord, tenant and representatives. Documents can be requested and, if necessary, the LTRC may direct the Corporation Counsel to issue a subpoena.

Term of Office: 2 Year Term, no more than four consecutive terms.

Membership/Appointment The LTRC consists of nine members appointed by the Board of Trustees. Three members shall represent landlord interests, three members are tenants and three members are neither landlords nor tenants in the Village of Ossining. Examples of this last group of LTRC members are owners of single family homes, owners of cooperative or condominium units and owners of non-real estate related business who reside in the Village. Under Local Law 9-2017, members to serve no more than two consecutive terms and must have 75% attendance.

Meetings are held virtually on the First Wednesday of each month.  Due to the personal nature of residents’ issues, these meetings are not open to the public.  If you wish to request to appear virtually at this meeting between 6:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. to submit an intake/complaint, please contact the Council at ltrc@villageofossiningny.gov.
