Fire Department

The Ossining Fire Department is 100% volunteer with over 470 active members.  There are 9 companies that operate 6 Engines, 2 Ladders, 1 Rescue, 1 R.I.T. truck and a spill response trailer.  The department has a Chief Engineer, 1st Assistant Chief Engineer, 2nd Assistant Chief Engineer and 17 Deputy Chiefs.  Each company has a Captain, 1st Lieutenant, 2nd Lieutenant, Chief Driver and 2 Fire Commissioners.  The equipment and apparatus are owned by the Village of Ossining along with 5 firehouses, with 2 other firehouses being owned by the companies and rented to the Village.
