Building Department
**Effective May 10, 2024, building permits will be required for the installation, expansion and/or replacement of driveways or parking areas in the village. A separate permit is not required where the installation, expansion and/or replacement is part of an approved site plan. No permit is required for resealing of a driveway or parking area. The application is available on line and the fee is $75 which includes the cost for a final inspection and Certificate of Occupancy.**
**Effective September 5th, 2023, the Village of Ossining ONLY will be accepting online applications via Municity/CitySquared (https://citysquared.com).**
The Building Department is responsible for the Enforcement of the Local Ordinances of the Village of Ossining (and all applicable County and State Laws). These laws regulate the use and occupancy of private land and structures for the purpose of securing the public safety, health and general welfare through structural strength, stability, means of egress, adequate light and ventilation, and safety to life and property from fire and other hazards.
The Village of Ossining follows the New York State Uniform Code. The Building Department will continue to help address the quality of life and safety issues that affect the Village of Ossining residents and property owners.
